After growing rumours in recent hours, the chances of Moussa Diaby's return to Bayer Leverkusen look promising.
Kicker.de reports that the winger is apparently prepared to forgo more salary than with other interested parties, including Inter Milan.
Meanwhile, Benfica also remains interested, while the possible transfer fee could move to around €25 million for the Frenchman.
Leverkusen's new head coach Carles Martínez is equally expected to favor of bringing the 27-year-old back to the Rhineland.
Paris Saint-Germain talent Ibrahim Mbaye was also discussed, but overall package was deemed too pricey by Leverkusen's bosses.
Furthermore, Mbaye himself favours a move to Liverpool FC over the Bundesliga, which hands the Reds a greater advantage.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old Brazilian forward Alisson from Shakhtar Donetsk was included in discussions as another Diaby alternative.
With one central midfielder set to be sold by Leverkusen this summer, a departure of Equi Fernández could finance the Diaby deal.
The aforementioned Portuguese club Benfica is reportedly offering €20million plus bonuses up to €5million for the Argentinean.
