Lewis Dobbin says he still aims to earn a chance at Aston Villa despite an unfulfilled West Brom loan following his £10m move from Everton in 2024.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 23-year-old is unsure about his long-term future and discussed his situation during the international break.
He joined Villa from Everton in the summer of 2024, then moved to West Brom on loan. He made 18 appearances there, only two as a starter, before being recalled. A bright start at Norwich was then cut short by injury.
Last summer he joined Preston on loan and it has been rewarding, with eight goals in 34 appearances in all competitions as North End briefly flirted with a play-off push. Yet, almost two years on from signing, he is still to feature competitively for Villa.
He said he is contracted to Villa, has two years left on his deal, and hopes for a chance one day. He takes it game by game and wants to perform at his highest level.
He also accepted that, if a Villa opportunity does not come, he would back himself to secure a good move elsewhere. For now, he is concentrating on his performances while on loan.
