Liam Rosenior praises Joao Pedro performance

Rosenior made changes from the team which beat Wolves, with both Estevao and Josh Acheampong handed starts.

Pedro once again led the line, and put in another impressive performance, as his good form since Rosenior came in continued.

The Brazil international has matched his tally of ten Premier League goals from last season, and Rosenior believes he’s perfect for how he wants to play.

“He’s a top player, he always has been,” he told his post match press conference.

“I know how hard, speaking to the guys, the club, worked to bring him to the club because he’s had that potential and he’s now starting to show that.

“Some of the play, some of the movements and the patterns in the first half was everything I wanted to see in the team.

“And Joao suits the way I want to play down to the ground. And even at the end, his energy levels, to create the chances for himself in the second half that he did, he was really unfortunate with the header.

“He’s showing me an energy and intensity and a quality that is of a really, really high level.”

Cole Palmer misses open goal to win the game

Despite the disappointment of dropping points from a winning position, Chelsea had an opportunity to win it in stoppage time.

Palmer somehow missed an open goal, after Moises Caicedo played the ball across the box, and it’s baffling how he managed to miss from there.

However, it shouldn’t take away from another positive performance for Palmer who’s scored four goals in his last two games.
