Jesse Lingard has been granted leave by Corinthians to return to England because his grandfather has been hospitalised.
The club said in a statement that its football department and head coach Fernando Diniz authorised the trip on Thursday, 28 May, for family matters, and that the forward is excused from Saturday’s game at Grêmio.

The 18th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro pits Corinthians against Grêmio.
Kick-off is scheduled for Saturday at 17:30 Brasília time.
The match will be played at Arena do Grêmio, the final fixture before the World Cup break.
