Liverpool contacted about exit of star after just one year

Even though Richard Hughes and Arne Slot spent £450 million on new players for Liverpool, changes still need to be made in the upcoming transfer window.

The Reds spent the most money of any Premier League club last term and now, it feels like they may have to do the same again.

Several players such as Yan Diomande, Adam Wharton and Roland Sallai have all been linked with an Anfield switch.

And, although no concrete moves have been made by Liverpool yet, everything seems to be pointing towards many changes being made.

However, if Slot and Hughes want to spent even more money, they're going to have to generate those funs by selling some of their first-team squad.

Harvey Elliott is one of the many names on the Anfield chopping block and now, a player who the Reds only signed in the last summer window could also be on his way out.

Liverpool have received a few enquiries about Giorgi Mamardashvili

Giorgi Mamardashvili has had a decent amount of playing time between Liverpool's sticks this season.

Although fans knew that the Georgian would be playing in the Carabao Cup, nobody could have expected the sheer number of injuries that Alisson has endured this term.

The Brazilian's absence means that Mamardashvili has played a fair few games this season and, according to TEAMtalk, his impressive performances have caused several clubs to make enquiries about the 'keeper.

The report starts by saying that a number of clubs have 'made contact' with Liverpool about Mamardashvili.

Alisson's Liverpool contract has recently been extended which has cast 'uncertainty' about the future of the Georgian.

Although Liverpool see Mamardashvili as Alisson's long-term successor, there are still some questions about the immediate future of the 25-year-old.

And, since the Anfield outfit are 'unclear' on what they'd like to do, interest in the goalkeeper is 'growing' with many clubs now alerted of Mamardashvili's situation.

Liverpool must figure out their plans for Alisson and Giorgi Mamardashvili soon

Although it's clear that Alisson is Liverpool's number one at the moment, the fact that he only has a year left on his new deal shows that the Reds don't really have that much time to decide what they want to do with the Brazilian.

He's been one of the Premier League's best goalkeepers over the last few years and although his injury history is a tad concerning, it's clear that the 33-year-old is still a better 'keeper than Mamardashvili.

However, the caveat to this is that Alisson is on far more money than the Georgian which means that Liverpool must weigh up whether the cost to keep the 33-year-old is worth the difference in quality between the two 'keepers.

When given the chance to prove his worth, Mamardashvili has often stepped up to the occasion and has proven why they signed him to be Caoimhin Kelleher's replacement.

But, since other leaders such as Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah could also be leaving at the end of next season, it feels like it would be far too much change to lose all three players at the same time.

Another thing to consider is that at the moment, Mamardashvili is in the prime years of his career and, even though he may be willing to wait a short while to take over Alisson's place, there will be a point when he's had enough and will want to explore pastures new.

There's no knowing what the future has in store but for now, the fact that Slot has two world-class goalkeepers at his disposal should be celebrated.
