The uncertainty comes at a tricky time for Liverpool, with doubts over a key defender surfacing just as the club aims to keep things steady for a demanding season.

According to Fichajes, Liverpool have turned their attention back to Ronald Araujo as they look to reinforce their defense ahead of next summer.

With Konaté’s contract running down and signs pointing to a Real Madrid move, Liverpool are bracing for a major change in defense. As a result, the Barcelona defender has quickly become one of their top targets to fill the gap.

The Barcelona board has been clear: Any club that wants Araujo must pay at least €50 million. Moreover, the player’s camp hasn’t ruled out a transfer either. The defender knows he needs more minutes and consistency, something he isn’t getting at Barça.

Furthermore, Liverpool aren’t the only side keen on the Uruguyan. However, the report states they’ve gone further than most in studying his contract and market value.
