West Ham are gearing up to accelerate their efforts to sign Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton, according to reports from The West Ham Way. As Liverpool continue reshaping their squad under Arne Slot ahead of another Premier League title defence, several players are attracting attention across Europe and beyond.
Liverpool’s transfer window has been busy, with both incoming and outgoing moves shaping the future of the squad. Darwin Núñez, once seen as a key figure, was reportedly close to joining Napoli, but talks broke down over Liverpool’s valuation. Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Saudi Pro League clubs remain interested and are likely to make a move soon.
Federico Chiesa is another player keen to leave, with Liverpool seemingly open to discussions. Meanwhile, Luis Díaz and Ibrahima Konaté could depart, but only if compelling offers come in, as the club are reluctant to lose either.
Against this backdrop, the futures of Elliott and Morton stand out. Both shone at the recent U21 Euros, raising their profiles significantly. The West Ham Way reports that the Hammers see them as ideal targets to bolster Graham Potter’s squad, which is focusing on young, dynamic talent.

West Ham’s transfer activity has been notable, especially following their successful signing of El Hadji Malick Diouf, a player previously linked with Liverpool. According to The West Ham Way, the next focus is on Elliott and Morton, with talks ongoing.
“West Ham are said to be trying to move the Harvey Elliot deal on in these next few days,” the report noted. “The club have been in talks all week and there is hope a deal could be achieved.”
At 22, both Elliott, valued at £50m, and Morton align with Potter’s vision of adding young, technically gifted players. West Ham fans will hope these moves materialise quickly, as the club looks to build on a promising period under their new manager.
Arne Slot’s arrival at Liverpool has seen a firm emphasis on freshening the squad while maintaining the club’s competitive edge. While high-profile names like Núñez and Chiesa could exit, Slot appears equally focused on giving opportunities to emerging talent or allowing them to develop elsewhere.
Harvey Elliott has shown flashes of brilliance but has struggled to cement a regular starting role. Tyler Morton, meanwhile, has impressed during loan spells, and a move to West Ham could provide the perfect stage to step up to Premier League regularity.
From a Liverpool perspective, the reported West Ham moves for Elliott and Morton raise intriguing questions. Elliott is widely regarded among fans as one of the brightest talents to come through in recent years. While he has not locked down a consistent starting spot, many believe his technical skill, vision and maturity will make him a key figure under Arne Slot, especially as Slot’s system demands intelligent, attack-minded midfielders.
Morton, on the other hand, has been somewhat under the radar but impressed during his loan stints. Letting him go permanently might be seen as premature by some supporters, especially considering Liverpool’s need for midfield depth. Yet, if a deal includes buy-back clauses or performance-based incentives, it could make sense for all parties.
Overall, these potential departures suggest Slot is ruthless in shaping his squad and confident in both the existing talent and incoming reinforcements. While Liverpool fans will naturally be curious and perhaps cautious about losing promising homegrown players, most will trust Slot’s judgment, particularly after his triumphant Premier League-winning debut season.
