Ibrahima Konate's Liverpool future is still up in the air.
Since the 2025-26 season kicked off, everyone has known that the Frenchman's contract is set to expire in June.
Initially, it seemed to be a race between Real Madrid and Liverpool to see who could agree on a deal, however, due to his poor performances, Xabi Alonso has seemingly turned his attention elsewhere.
Since then, Paris Saint-Germain have been mentioned as a potential option for the centre-back, and, with time running out for the Reds to agree on an extension with the centre-back, they're likely to be looking for potential replacements.
And now, as per a recent update, it seems like they're well on their way towards doing so.
Several centre-backs have been linked with an Anfield switch over the last few months due to the lack of depth that Arne Slot has at his disposal.

Players such as Marc Guehi, Dayot Upamecano and Joel Ordonez have all been linked with a Liverpool switch but at the moment, none of those deals seem to be getting over the line.
This lack of movement in the market is likely why new names are being brought up all the time with TEAMtalk now sharing an update on Richard Hughes' chase for a new centre-back.
The report starts by saying that Liverpool and four other teams are 'keen' on signing20-year-old Jeremy Jacquet.
At the moment, Chelsea seem to be the front runners with the defender being seen as one of the most 'highly rated youngsters' in Europe.
However, this hasn't stopped the Reds from 'tracking' the defender with his recent performances catching the eye of some of the biggest teams in the world.
One thing that was made clear about Liverpool's summer recruitment was that the Reds are looking to sign players with plenty of potential.
The vast majority of the moves they made in the last transfer window were for players who were young.
Milos Kerkez and Giovanni Leoni are the best examples of this and, while both are good enough to start for the Anfield outfit now, the fact that they're still just 21 and 18 means that they have plenty of room left to grow.
A lot of money was spent by Liverpool in the summer and a deal for Jacquet won't come cheap.
However, since he's been used as the right-sided centre-back for Rennes and even as a right-back this term, it's clear that he'd be a perfect fit.
His wages would also cost significantly less than Konate's which also helps his chances of being signed by Liverpool massively.
Of course, these are all just rumours for now but, on the face of things, a move for the French wonderkid makes total sense.
