Alexander Isak, the British record signing, scored a great opener against Spurs. In doing so, however, he appears to have received a bad injury.
Micky van de Ven clattered into him as he took his shot, leaving Isak in a heap on the floor. He was visibly in intense pain afterwards and played no further part.
Reports now suggest that Isak is in a bad way. The Athletic claims Liverpool are pessimistic, fearing a 'serious' lower leg injury.
That would be an enormous blow. Isak was the star summer signing and one who, due to fitness concerns, hasn't got going for Liverpool. He's played a meagre 504 Premier League minutes but could well be out for the season.
If that's the case, Liverpool will have the approval to find a replacement - there's no question about that. They'd be left without any backup for Hugo Ekitike, let alone the fact they'd be down one major, experienced player.
The Reds would simply need to act in some way. , it would leave them short on the right.
