At 17, Rio Ngumoha has signed his first professional contract with Liverpool, just one year after arriving from Chelsea. Recruited in September 2024 for the Academy, the winger adapted at lightning speed: U18, U19, U21, and then the first team under Arne Slot. He made his debut in January in the FA Cup against Accrington Stanley, before becoming a regular part of the rotation this season. Already with five appearances for the senior side—including Tuesday’s 2-1 Carabao Cup win over Southampton—Ngumoha has earned the staff’s trust. The club has not disclosed the terms of the deal, but this first contract marks a meteoric rise for the England U19 international, a Cobham product for whom compensation was sought at the time of his move.
