Liverpool goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros will undergo a medical with Dutch giants Ajax on Tuesday.
Jaros is very highly rated at Anfield and Arne Slot gave him a Premier League outing in the recent season.
For now, with Alisson firmly established as Liverpool’s number 1, there is little prospect of Jaros clocking regular game time at the Premier League champions.
And Liverpool have agreed to loan the goalkeeper to Ajax for the season.
New Ajax boss John Heitinga saw Jaros up close while he was on the coaching staff at Liverpool and has steered the Dutch giants towards him.
Now, according to Dutch journalist Mike Verweij, Jaros will be put through his medical paces by Ajax on Tuesday.
Should he come through the checks without an issue then he will be able to put pen to paper to a loan contract with the Amsterdam giants.
For Liverpool, the move allows them to see Jaros handle the demands of playing for one of the Netherlands’ top clubs.
Ajax will be gunning to win back the Eredivisie next season, having seen a form slump cost them the title this term, as PSV won it.
Jaros was signed by Liverpool from Slavia Prague in 2017 and initially slotted into the club’s youth ranks.
He has had a number of prior loans, at St Patrick’s Athletic, Notts County, Stockport County and, most recently, in Austria at Sturm Graz.
Jaros has been capped by the Czech Republic.
