Arne Slot's job seems to be safe for now.

The Dutchman's future has been under question for a while now due to the lack of form that Liverpool have been in this term.

And, even though the Anfield outfit are still in the Champions League places, it feels like they should have done far better, especially since they spent over £450 million on new players in the summer.

However, that hasn't been the case which means that even more changes will have to occur this summer which could result in some of Liverpool's first-team squad getting moved on.

Of course, fans are already expecting a few of their players to be sold but it seems like one could actually be staying put, if the latest rumours are to be believed.

Juventus are turning their attention towards David de Gea rather than Alisson

For the longest time now, Juventus have had an interest in Alisson.

The Brazilian has just over a year left on his current Liverpool deal which means that the Reds could end up moving him on for a cut-rate fee at some point in the near future.

But, since he's still their number one 'keeper, it's hardly a surprise to see that the Reds are playing hardball with a fresh update from TuttoSport sharing a new update on the 33 year old's situation.

"If it were up to Lucio alone, there wouldn't be much doubt in this regard: the number one dream continues to coincide with Alisson Becker , on his way out of Liverpool , who has chosen to focus on Mamardashvili," they wrote.

"However, this is a more complicated path than one might have thought until a few weeks ago.

"Not so much for the price tag (at least fifteen million is needed) but rather for the player's financial demands, including salary - he earns eight million net per year in the Premier League - signing bonus, and agent fees.

"Hence the scepticism of his own entourage, following a series of discussions in recent weeks with several Serie A big clubs, including Juventus. This is why David De Gea's stock is soaring."

Liverpool cannot let Alisson exit Anfield

Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah are already exiting Anfield this summer.

The duo have been two of the Reds' best-ever players in their positions with both of them leaving with every single member of the fanbase behind them.

However, since Liverpool's recruitment over the last couple of years has focused on bringing young talent in, two of their veterans leaving could be slightly problematic.

Not only are they taking their vast Premier League experience with them but it also means that there's not going to be all that many older players to mentor the young ones into becoming better players.

So, since Alisson will be one of Liverpool's oldest players by the start of the 2026-27 campaign, his role within the club could be about to get even more important.

This, coupled with the fact that he's still a much better option between the sticks than Giorgi Mamardashvili make it almost impossible for Liverpool to be able to move him on, especially if they don't get a decent chunk of change to replace him.

Alisson out of their thoughts.
