Sunderland slipped to a 3-1 Premier League defeat at West Ham United on Saturday lunchtime.
According to Sunderland Echo, Crysencio Summerville, Jarrod Bowen and Mateus Fernandes scored before Brian Brobbey pulled one back after the interval, giving Nuno’s side a deserved victory.
Goalkeeper Robin Roefs had little chance with the goals, got a hand to the third, and guessed right for Bowen’s penalty but could not keep it out. He was rated five.
Nordi Mukiele was beaten in the air by Summerville for the opener and struggled before the break. He improved in the second half, overlapping to set up Brobbey’s header, then looked frustrated when withdrawn late on. He was rated five.
Dan Ballard battled throughout and made important defensive interventions. He was among Sunderland’s better performers on a difficult day, earning a rating of six.
Omar Alderete could not find his best level in or out of possession, slack at times on the ball and less dominant in duels. He received a rating of five.
