FC Barcelona were dealt a huge blow last night during their La Liga game against Celta Vigo at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Moments after tucking away a penalty, which would prove to be a match-winning contribution, Lamine Yamal went down in pain, clutching the back of his thigh.

After examination by the club’s medical staff, it was immediately decided to take him off the field, with Roony Bardghji replacing him.

Initial reports after the game suggested that the youngster might have torn his hamstring, meaning his season might already be over.

Now, providing the latest update on his condition, journalist Santi Ovalle on Carrusel reports that Lamine’s injury is not looking good.

The teenage sensation showed up at the club’s training facilities earlier today to undergo medical tests, and as per the update, it is now confirmed that he has a tear in his hamstring, with the extent of it still to be determined.

Either way, the journalist states that Lamine is ‘very hurt’ and as things stand, it ‘does not look good’ for the youngster.

While an official update is still awaited, a recovery period of between four and six weeks could be confirmed for Lamine, meaning his participation in the remainder of the season would be in jeopardy.

Not only that, but it would also put his spot in the Spain squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup at risk.

Lamine, once again, has been Barcelona’s most influential player this season, already racking up a very impressive tally of 24 goals and 18 assists from 45 matches across all competitions.

Not having him for the rest of the season will be a major blow for Barcelona.
