Manchester United will not pursue a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer, a report has revealed.
United are known to be keen on a new striker this summer and Osimhen has long been touted as a possible option, with several global outlets recently claiming an agreement has already been struck to bring the Nigeria international to Old Trafford in the coming months.
Countering such reports, David Ornstein has stressed that Osimhen is not the priority target for United and isn't even seen as an alternative to preferred option Liam Delap of Ipswich Town, who is also of interest to Chelsea.
"If Manchester United are to look at others, I'm assured it will not be Victor Osimhen," Ornstein told NBC Sports. "Despite reports you might be reading, he is not on the agenda for United.
"They will have other options because they might have to turn to them, or they could stick with internal solutions, such as a Rasmus Hojlund, and they focus on other positions."
Osimhen is thought to be eyeing up a move to the Premier League, where Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked, but will only make a decision on his future once his loan with Galatasaray comes to a close.

Elsewhere, talks have been opened over versatile Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha, who is seen as the top target in attacking midfield, with Ornstein insisting United can trigger his £62.5m release clause regardless of European qualification or player sales.
"The priority for United in this upcoming transfer window is attack," he explained. "They are looking at a centre-forward and a No10 as their main focus.
"They want to get on with it pretty quickly. The finances are in place, as I understand it, to do the deals they would like to do. They do not depend on European football I'm told, nor on sales to necessitate them.
"Their main focus for the No10 position is Matheus Cunha of Wolverhampton Wanderers. He has a £62.5m release clause. He wants to come, we're told, but personal terms would still need to be agreed, which is not a formality. Let's see if other clubs come in for him as well, but there is optimism at Old Trafford that they can land him.
"They have alternatives; the likes of Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth and Tyler Dibling of Southampton, but Cunha is the one they are focusing on. It's not close just yet, but I could see this one developing rapidly."
