Manager Graham Potter is under massive pressure and could be out of a job if results don’t improve.

Here are some of the top candidates West Ham could turn to if they axe Potter.

Sean Dyche

West Ham ended their association with David Moyes at the end of the 2023-24 season because of their desire to play more progressive football.

The move has failed, with Julen Lopetegui and Potter failing to deliver the desired results. The Hammeers could turn to Sean Dyche to steady the ship.

The 54-year-old secured Everton’s top-flight status, but the club’s fans criticised his style of play.

Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho boasts an impressive CV, with three Premier League and two Champions League trophies to his name.

The Portuguese has already managed Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, so he is familiar with the Premier League.

The 62-year-old was sacked by Fenerbahce last month following the Turkish club’s Champions League play-off defeat to Benfica.

Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard did a commendable job during his tenure at Chelsea, leading them to a fourth-place finish in the Premier League and the FA Cup final in his debut campaign.

He was dismissed in January 2021 after a series of poor results and flopped again in his next job at Everton.

Lampard is currently in charge of Coventry City, who have made an unbeaten start to the new season under him.

Thiago Motta

Thiago Motta enjoyed a hugely impressive spell at Bologna, earning a reputation as one of Europe’s most interesting and innovative young coaches.

His progressive style of play transformed the Serie A club’s fortunes, turning them from relegation strugglers to European contenders.

However, Motta failed to make the same impact at Juventus after his appointment in June 2024, and he lasted just nine months in Turin.
