Manchester City and Arsenal have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of today’s massive Premier League fixture at the Emirates Stadium. Both teams will be eager to pick up three points and send a message to their rival. Although the game isn’t a title-decider by any stretch, it is a special fixture on the calendar. A rivalry has developed between the two teams over recent seasons. There is a healthy respect between the teams but it is a fixture filled with storylines and subplots.
Manchester City enter today’s match with four players unavailable. Mateo Kovacic, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki and Omar Marmoush will all miss the match due to injury. Whether or not Rodri starts is another topic to monitor ahead of kick-off. The Spanish midfielder has started City’s past two matches against Manchester United and Napoli. Rodri has spoken of his need to be careful with how many minutes he plays. If there is any doubt with Rodri’s fitness it is expected that Manchester City will err on the side of caution with their most important player.
Here are the starting lineups ahead of today’s match.
Pep Guardiola has once again named an unchanged starting eleven for the third successive game. Rodri starts which is a huge boost for Manchester City. John Stones is on the bench as he looks to have put his recent injury issues behind him.
Starting lineup: Donnarumma, Khusanov, Ruben Dias, Gvardiol, Nico O’Reilly, Rodri, Bernardo Silva (C), Reijnders, Foden, Doku, Haaland.
Substitutes: Trafford, Stones, Ake, Nico, Savinho, Matheus Nunes, Bobb, Mukasa, Lewis.
