Manchester City have identified RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi as possible summer signings, as per a new report.
The Premier League leaders, who recently reclaimed their spot at the summit of the table following a crucial victory over Burnley, are seemingly wasting no time in planning for the 2026/27 campaign.
Under the guidance of Sporting Director Hugo Viana, Manchester City are looking to inject fresh energy into a frontline that has relied heavily on the resurgence of Jeremy Doku, the ever-present Erling Haaland, and the fresh impetus of Antoine Semenyo since January.
The move perhaps highlights a strategic shift toward elite, younger recruitment, and while City’s immediate focus remains on securing a domestic Treble, the scouting department has been tasked with finding attackers capable of operating across Pep Guardiola’s front three.
Now, according to Sky Sports News’ Lyall Thomas and Adrian Kajumba, executives at the Etihad Stadium have added RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi as possible additions to their frontline this summer.
City are expected to receive interest in winger Omar Marmoush, who has struggled for regular playing time this term as Jeremy Doku enjoys arguably his best season at the Etihad Stadium since joining from Rennes in 2023.
Savinho could also be on the move despite signing a new contract last summer, having seen Tottenham express interest in him in 2025 only for Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano to block a transfer to north London.
Pep Guardiola to block potential summer Savinho exit amid ongoing transfer rumours
The potential arrival of Diomande or Kroupi could signal the end of the road for those currently unable to break into Pep Guardiola’s starting line-up for large parts of the ongoing campaign.
With Manchester City in serious pursuit of yet another Premier League title, and with a squad showing serious signs of becoming a true force across the continent in future, the club’s pull continues to stand high, allowing Hugo Viana to target the most coveted names in Europe.
As the season finale approaches, the hierarchy will need to balance squad harmony with a need for evolution, and whether that means Marmoush or Savinho must leave in order to make way, the intention is evidently to remain at the top of the footballing pyramid.
