Manchester City ‘submit offer’ for Marseille keeper Gerónimo Rulli

Manchester City have submitted an offer to Marseille for 34-year-old goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli, Foot Mercato reports.

Fabrizio Romano reported late yesterday that City were interested, and that Rulli is open to a return to Manchester, having been on their books in 2016 without playing.

He would likely arrive as understudy to Gianluigi Donnarumma, with James Trafford close to joining Leeds United. Sporting CP have also shown interest in the former Real Sociedad and Montpellier man.

Marseille are seeking to control the timing of any departure. They are advancing talks over Jeffrey de Lange’s proposed move to FC Twente and do not want to lose both senior goalkeepers before securing a replacement.

Rulli has made 73 appearances for Les Olympiens since arriving in the summer of 2024 under Roberto De Zerbi.
