Khadija Shaw, Alex Greenwood, Aoba Fujino and Vivianne Miedema got the goals for The Cityzens in front of 43,917 fans at Wembley.
The first chance of the game came in the opening 10 minutes when Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Fran Kirby saw a shot blocked. The Seagulls then saw a long-range shot from Marisa Olislagers cleared.
Dario Vidošić’s side went close through a Kirby shot which was blocked by Ayaka Yamashita. The follow-up effort from Kiko Seike then went over the goal.
Despite The Seagulls’ chances, it was Manchester City who took the lead through Shaw in the 38th minute. The Jamaican international headed a looping cross from Greenwood past Chiamaka Nnadozie.
Just before the break, Manuela Vanegas sent a left-footed low shot towards goal but the ball was comfortably gathered by Yamashita.
Manchester City doubled their lead in first half injury-time through a Greenwood free-kick. It was the defender’s first goal for the club in two years.
Andrée Jeglertz’s side added another goal in the 66th minute. Second half substitute, Fujino, planted a left-footed strike into Nnadozie’s goal.
Another second half substitute, Miedema, added a fourth goal to Manchester City’s tally in the 86th minute. She diverted Kerstin Casparij’s cross past Nnadozie. The Brighton & Hove Albion keeper did get her gloves to the ball but failed to keep it out of the net.
Manchester City’s 4-0 victory means that Jeglertz’s side have completed the domestic double and claimed their first Adobe Women’s FA Cup since 2020. The Cityzens are the third team to win the Barclays Women’s Super League and the Adobe Women’s FA Cup in the same season.
