The trail leading to Cole Palmer has closed for Manchester United. Despite genuine interest reported in recent months, the Manchester board has decided to remove the attacking midfielder from their summer shortlist, deterred by financial factors now incompatible with their new strategic direction.

Under a long-term contract with Chelsea until 2033, Palmer is valued at a level considered excessive. The Blues are unwilling to negotiate below a sum close to £100 million, with substantial wage demands on top, making the deal nearly impossible to support under the current circumstances at Old Trafford.

After significant recent investments, Manchester United is now prioritizing a more measured approach. This season, however, Palmer is posting impressive numbers, with five goals and two assists in fourteen appearances, confirming a status that continues to attract attention in the market.
