Another negative as Manchester United’s unbeaten run comes to an end
Manchester United have been dealt a new injury scare after Noussair Mazraoui was forced off during the loss to Newcastle.
Mazraoui was handed a first start for Man Utd since December - mainly due to his exploits for Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations - as Michael Carrick decided to freshen up his side after the comeback win over Crystal Palace.
However, the versatile defender's involvement came to an end shortly before the final whistle blew at St. James' Park.
Mazraoui picked up a knock late on and tried to continue before eventually being replaced by Tyrell Malacia.
There is yet to be an update on the 28-year-old regarding the severity of the injury, though he could be a doubt for Man United's next fixture against Aston Villa a week on Sunday.
Footage has since emerged of Mazraoui walking with a small limp and looking uncomfortable as he left the stadium with the rest of the Man Utd squad.
Mazraoui was off the pitch when William Osula struck for ten-man Newcastle in stoppage time to hand Carrick his first defeat as Man United head coach.

The Red Devils had equalised in first half injury time through Casemiro's header, cancelling out Anthony Gordon's penalty which put the Magpies ahead shortly after Jacob Ramsey had been sent-off for two bookable offences.
Despite the loss, Man Utd remain third in the Premier League table, level on points with Aston Villa and three clear of Chelsea and Liverpool as the battle for Champions League qualification heats up.
United were able to hand starts to Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire against Newcastle. The pair were doubtful because of illness, but the latter completed the full 90 minutes as Shaw was replaced just after the hour mark.
