The Red Devils had the chance to move into fourth place in the Premier League table after seeing Liverpool, Tottenham, Bournemouth and Sunderland all fail to win over the weekend.

Ruben Amorim’s side were even handed an early boost at Old Trafford when Everton were reduced to ten-men in the 13th minute.

However, despite a second half onslaught, the hosts were unable to find an equaliser after falling behind to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s strike just before the half hour mark.

While Jordan Pickford pulled off a few decent saves to keep United at bay, ultimately the absence of Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha proved decisive as United lost for the first time since the end of September.

Next up is tough test away at Crystal Palace and here is the latest Manchester United injuries and potential return dates…

Matheus Cunha

Manchester United were dealt a huge blow before their Premier League showdown against Everton, with Matheus Cunha not named in the matchday squad.

The reason for Cunha’s absence was due to suffering a minor knock during a training session at Carrington on Saturday.

"It was a knock in the training," Ruben Amorim told Sky Sports. "I don't know how long he is going to stay out. I think it's nothing serious but we cannot risk players.

"We have to show everybody, when you are not 100 per cent, we have a different player to cope with the demands of the game."

Amorim will hope to have the Brazilian back for Sunday’s trip to the capital as United seek to record their first win in three matches.

Potential return date: November 30, 2025 vs Crystal Palace (A)

Benjamin Sesko

Benjamin Sesko headed straight down the tunnel during the 2-2 draw at Tottenham before the international break after injuring his knee.

The full extent of the striker’s injury was revealed by Ruben Amorim in the pre-Everton press conference as the 22-year-old is expected to be back around the same time that Man United stars depart for the Africa Cup of Nations.

“He is going to stay a few weeks out. I don't know how long, but it is not that serious we have to be careful with him,” Amorim said.

“He is going to recover. He is doing the recovery and he is feeling better so we expect in a few weeks to have him back.

“I think it is going to be more or less he will be back at the same time as Amad and Mbeumo leave for AFCON. I don't want to say for sure but when they are going to the camp I expect to have Ben back.”

Potential return date: Early December

Harry Maguire

Also missing from the Manchester United squad against Everton was Harry Maguire because of a hamstring issue sustained in the draw against Tottenham.

The fact that Maguire has not trained since limping off just over a fortnight ago and was considered “not ready” to face the Toffees suggests he is still some way off from being available for selection again.

Fortunately, Amorim was able to hand a recall to the fit again Lisandro Martinez for the Premier League fixture. Although, the Argentine was an unused substitute in the 1-0 loss to Everton.

Potential return date: Unknown
