Real Madrid have their sights firmly on Crystal Palace and England midfielder Adam Wharton for the summer of 2026.
The 21-year-old midfield ace has convinced Xabi Alonso & co. to closely follow his development in the Premier League thanks to his impressive performances for Crystal Palace under Oliver Glasner.
However, Real Madrid are likely to face stiff competition in their pursuit of Wharton, with several other teams showing interest.
Indeed, according to talkSPORT, Premier League giants Manchester United are one of Wharton’s strongest admirers.
The Red Devils are in the market for midfield reinforcements after failing in their pursuit of Carlos Baleba during the summer transfer window.
As such, Ruben Amorim’s side have identified Wharton as a key target for 2026 and are even considering making an offer worth £60 million for him.

Crystal Palace, for their part, have no intentions of parting ways with Wharton, and any move for him will be difficult to pull off – be it for Real Madrid or Manchester United.
However, the Eagles’ co-owner, Steve Parish, admitted that the young midfielder aspires to play Champions League football, which could become a factor in his future.
“I think Adam at some point will want to play either in the Champions League with us, if we can make that happen, or probably with another club,” Parish said.
At the same time, though, Parish insisted that Wharton was fully focused on succeeding with Palace.
“He’s an extraordinary talent. I think right now, and I can’t speak for Adam, but I think he’s focused on his time at Crystal Palace,” he noted.
“I think he’s very committed to the club. I don’t know where all this stuff comes from.”
