English sources claim that Roberto Mancini has told his friends that he could be one of the candidates to replace Ruben Amorim at Manchester United if the Portuguese is sacked.

Mancini feels he could be in the race to become the new Manchester United coach this season if Amorim is sacked.

According to The Sun, the Italian tactician has told his friends that he could be considered for the job at Old Trafford if Amorim is dismissed.

Manchester United have had a poor start to the season, with just 10 points in seven Premier League matches.

Mancini led Italy to winning Euro 2020 but was also in charge when the Azzurri failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

He has been without a team for a year, as he was sacked by Saudi Arabia in October 2024 after just 18 games in charge.

According to the report, Mancini has already met Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe at various social functions in the South of France, where both own properties.
