Benfica remain intent on strengthening their attack before the new season starts, with a winger still a priority. According to Glorioso 1904, Marco Silva is awaiting another option for the flanks after several names were linked in recent weeks.

One of the first mooted was Harry Wilson of Fulham, a link that surfaced soon after Silva arrived. The Portuguese coach has since distanced himself from that scenario, saying there are no plans to recruit players from his former club.

Othmane Maamma, a young Morocco international at Watford, continues to be linked and is viewed as a leading talent of his generation. Carlos Álvarez of Levante has also been mentioned in Spain, though there is no indication that talks have begun.

Jan Virgili, the Spanish winger at Mallorca, has also entered the frame. Benfica are monitoring his progress, but there is strong competition from several European clubs for his signature.

More recently, Keito Nakamura of Stade Reims has been added to the list. The 25-year-old produced 14 goals and three assists in 32 matches in the French second division, although his recent World Cup duty with Japan leaves him a secondary option for now.
