Spurs have kicked off their season as one of four WSL teams with back to back wins.

No excuses for Tottenham

Despite the recent departure of Tottenham’s executive chairman, Daniel Levy, the club is still well behind the women’s team.

That was according to Spurs boss Martin Ho who sat down for a tell-all interview after his team’s quick start to the WSL campaign.

“What they want from me is to go and lead this team and take the team into a new era,” Ho said. “They want me to lead this team and make sure we have an identity and be proud as supporters to represent Tottenham.

“I know that the leadership and the ownership are going to continue to push this women’s team. They have big plans for it. That’s most important for me, I wanted to come here and have a clear project and strategy in place. They’ve outlined that to me, I’ve bought into it and our vision is the same.”

Levy’s departure came as a shock to everyone involved with Tottenham. The CEO was replaced by former Arsenal Chairman, Vinai Venkatesham.

Spurs turnaround under Martin Ho

The good news for Tottenham women’s team is that nothing drastic has been done since the ownership changed hands and Martin Ho admitted that there can be no excuses.

“This club has wonderful facilities, wonderful infrastructure. I don’t think we have any excuses as players or staff – we have everything.

“There’s going to be continued support and there has been since I came in. There’s been investment in this window with two big players. There will be continued investment moving forward.”

Last season Tottenham finished second bottom in the WSL and as a result they parted ways with former boss Robert Vilahamn.

Spurs fans have already seen a complete turnaround from their club since Ho was hired in the summer.

This season the North London outfit kicked off their campaign with back to back wins against West Ham and Everton.

Following their fast start, Spurs now sit fourth in the WSL as one of four teams with a 100% record.

Fixtures come thick and fast for Tottenham in the next week. First up for Spurs is Manchester City on Friday before a League Cup clash against Aston Villa.
