UEFA have confirmed an all-German team of match officials to oversee Manchester City’s penultimate league phase game in this season’s Champions League.

Pep Guardiola’s side will look to place one step into the last-16 of this season’s European showpiece as they embark on their final two matches of the competition’s league phase, closing out their eight matches at the Etihad Stadium.

A reunion with the likes of Ilkay Gundogan and Leroy Sane awaits on matchday eight of the league phase next week as Galatasaray visit the Etihad Stadium from Istanbul, but there is action in the Arctic Circle to contend with before then.

Manchester City will be desperately hoping to make amends for their drab showing at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, as they fell seven points behind leaders Arsenal through a 2-0 defeat to Michael Carrick’s rejuvenated Red Devils.

Second-half goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu proved the difference, although United did have three goals disallowed for offsides, and perhaps found themselves fortunate in the first-half as Diogo Dalot avoided a red card for a knee-high tackle on Jeremy Doku.

Now, ahead of the meeting between Bodo/Glimt and Manchester City, UEFA have announced the list of match officials to oversee proceedings at the Aspmyra Stadion in Bodo, Norway!

Match Referee

UEFA have this week confirmed that 35-year-old, Bremen resident Sven Jablonski will be the referee in the middle in Bodo this week as he oversees the action between Bodo/Glimt and Manchester City.

The German official will be overseeing his 17th match of the ongoing season, having worked in contests across the Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League, DFB Cup, UEFA Europa League, and Super League 1.

Across those 16 matches so far this campaign, Jablonski has issued a total of 55 yellow cards, one second yellow card dismissal, one straight red card, and also awarded one penalty kick in the process, too.

This will be the first time Sven Jablonski has officiated a match in any competition involving Manchester City, and the last time he took charge of a contest involving an English side came in December and Arsenal’s 0-3 away win at Club Brugge.

Assistant Referees

Accompanying Sven Jablonski out on the pitch in Bodo will be a German assistant referee pairing of Eduard Beitinger and Robert Kempter, UEFA have announced ahead of the contest.

Video Assistant Referees

Overseeing the contest from the VAR positions on Tuesday evening will be Video Assistant Referee Robert Schröder, working alongside the contest’s Assistant Video Assistant Referee Bastian Dankert.

Fourth Official

Managing the two dugouts at the Aspmyra Stadion in Bodo will be the contest’s fourth official Tobias Reichel, ensuring all is kept in check between Kjetil Knutsen and Pep Guardiola.
