Wolves teenager Mateus Mane matched a Cristiano Ronaldo benchmark with a stunning strike in the club’s final home game of the season against Fulham.
ExpressAndStar.com reports that the 18-year-old is only the second Portuguese teenager to score three or more Premier League goals from outside the box in a single campaign, after Ronaldo in 2003/04, with both on three.
Mane put Wolves ahead midway through the first half, driving a powerful right-footed shot from the edge of the box beyond the reach of Bernd Leno.
The goal was his third Premier League strike of the season and his first in the league since January, when he scored against Everton.
Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, recorded 103 goals and 37 assists in 236 Premier League appearances for Manchester United.
