Matheus Pereira can make his Corinthians debut after being registered for the Campeonato Paulista on Friday. According to Meu Timao, he is eligible to face São Paulo on Sunday at Neo Química Arena.

The midfielder was placed on List A for first team players, taking the club to 23 registered, with the FPF allowing up to 35 until 13 February. Corinthians also have eight names on List B for under 21 academy players.

His inclusion gives head coach Dorival Júnior six options for the deeper midfield role. Alongside the new signing, Raniele, Charles, Ryan and André Carrillo are also on the Paulista list, while Filho do Terrão is unlikely to stay as a loan to Fortaleza is being arranged. From List B, only André Luiz and Luiz Gustavo Bahia are listed for that position.

Midfielder José Martínez remains unregistered as he returns to Brazil after around three weeks in Venezuela to resolve a passport issue.

A Corinthians academy graduate, Pereira joins on loan from Fortaleza until the end of 2026, with an option to buy. After leaving Parque São Jorge, he had spells with Juventus, Empoli, Bordeaux II, Paraná, Juventus B, Dijon, Barcelona B and Eibar before returning to Brazil.

The 27-year-old is Corinthians’ second confirmed addition after centre-back Gabriel Paulista, who debuted in the defeat to Red Bull Bragantino. Right-back Pedro Milans and forward Kaio César are close to signing.

Kick-off is 16:00 in the third round of the Paulistão.
