Rennes suffered a nightmare start against OM on Sunday, trailing 2-0 by the 10th minute in Ligue 1’s 34th round.
Starting in goal in the absence of Brice Samba, the 20-year-old keeper conceded in the second minute to Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg. L'Équipe notes that Rennes are chasing a Champions League place and needed a win to keep that hope alive.
Soon after, attempting a clearance, his kick was charged down by Algeria international Amine Gouiri and the ball flew straight into the Rennes net.
The mistake compounded a difficult opening and left the visitors with a commanding advantage so early in the contest.
For now, the Breton club were two behind and, at that stage, overtaken by OM.
