Massimiliano Allegri was officially presented today as the new head coach of AC Milan, marking his return to the Rossoneri bench.

Speaking during a press conference on Monday morning, the former Juventus boss also shared his thoughts on the upcoming 2025/26 Serie A season.

“Favorites for the upcoming season? The teams that are always at the top are Napoli, who are the favorites because they won the league,” Allegri said.

“Then there’s Inter, Juventus, Atalanta, Lazio, and Roma. There’s six or seven very, very strong sides — that’s why it’s (for us) important to work well.”

Adding, “We are beginning to train and we need to start the season with enthusiasm, passion, determination and a sense of responsibility. We must create the conditions to reach our objectives at the end of the year: the first goal is to get back in the Champions League, in March we must be in this position.”

“We can only get there with work and improving everything, and I do believe. We will try to reach the best possible results, this must be the goal, never being satisfied”.

With Allegri back at San Siro, Milan look to re-establish themselves among Serie A’s elite — and the coach already sees the Giallorossi as part of that competitive pack.
