Max O’Leary has signed a new three-year contract with West Brom, the club’s first piece of summer business, keeping him at The Hawthorns until 2029.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 29-year-old joined from Bristol City in January and played an important role as James Morrison’s side secured Championship safety.

He kept eight clean sheets in 16 league games, including five in a row between March and April, as Albion pulled clear of danger.

A Bristol City academy graduate, he was offered fresh terms at the end of the campaign and has now accepted.

After the season he won his second Republic of Ireland cap, playing 74 minutes in a 5-0 friendly win over Grenada in May.

Albion have released understudy Joe Wildsmith and retain academy graduate Josh Griffiths, who has reportedly attracted interest from Stoke. Prospects Ben Cisse and Joe Wallis are also pushing for a breakthrough.
