Max O’Leary has signed a new three-year deal at West Brom, extending his stay at The Hawthorns until 2029. According to ExpressAndStar.com, it is Albion’s first move of the summer.

The 29-year-old joined from Bristol City in January and played a key part as James Morrison’s side secured Championship safety.

He kept eight clean sheets in 16 league games, including five in succession between March and April, as the Baggies pulled clear of danger.

A Bristol City academy graduate, O’Leary was offered fresh terms at the end of the campaign and has now committed to the club.

After the season he won his second Republic of Ireland cap, playing 74 minutes in a 5-0 friendly victory over Grenada in May.

Albion have released understudy Joe Wildsmith, while academy graduate Josh Griffiths remains on the books and has reportedly attracted interest from league rivals Stoke. Youngsters Ben Cisse and Joe Wallis are also pushing for a first-team breakthrough.
