Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay has opened up on his Manchester United exit and his move to Serie A in the summer of 2024.
The 28-year-old, a product of United’s academy, made his senior debut at the end of the 2016/17 season and went on to make more than 250 appearances for the club.
Last season, the Scotland international played a key role in Napoli’s title-winning campaign, starting all but three league games following his arrival.
He scored 12 goals and provided six assists on the way to glory, becoming the latest former United player to thrive after leaving Old Trafford.
McTominay has spoken candidly in the past about his departure, and in a recent interview with the BBC he admitted he’s fallen in love with Naples, the fans and the club, leaving him with no regrets over his decision to move abroad.
He remains as pivotal as ever as Napoli look to defend their title this season, having started all six of their league matches so far, scoring once and assisting once.
