Memphis accepted responsibility after slipping and missing a first-half penalty as Corinthians lost the derby to Palmeiras.
The player said in a post that the result did not reflect the game, that Corinthians showed greater desire for most of it but lacked efficiency, and that the miss left a bitter taste as he had never slipped in his career.
He slipped on his run-up moments after Andreas Pereira had scuffed the turf in the area where the Dutchman would plant his standing foot.
In the second half Palmeiras struck on a quick counter through Flaco López to seal the win, securing early qualification for the Campeonato Paulista quarter-finals as Corinthians continue to chase a place.
He added that he would keep his head up, believes in the team and, with the Fiel behind them, they will win more trophies soon.
It was his second missed penalty for Corinthians, the previous coming last season against Mirassol when a chipped effort was saved by goalkeeper Walter.
