Merlin Polzin ‘hopeful of keeping’ Tottenham loanee Luka Vuskovic | OneFootball

HSV coach Merlin Polzin says he has not given up hope of keeping Tottenham loanee Luka Vuskovic beyond this season.

“I’m a believer. Of course, I also have a football-romantic belief in things that are hard to imagine,” he told Bild. “Still, there is a clear contractual agreement between the clubs.”

As things stand, that agreement means the centre-back is due to return to Tottenham in the summer. His strong displays for HSV could make any extension difficult.

“We will decide after the World Cup what comes next, what is best for me,” Vuskovic told Sport Bild last month. He had previously been open to remaining with HSV.

A chance to play alongside his brother, Mario Vuskovic, who is suspended until October due to a doping ban, could also influence him. The 18-year-old has made 21 appearances for HSV, scoring four goals.
