Midfielder released by Corinthians, joins Estonian club

Midfielder Thomas Lisboa is no longer part of the Corinthians squad. In the early hours of this Friday (20), the midfielder was announced as the newest signing for Tartu JK Tammeka, a team that competes in the top tier of Estonian football.

At 21 years old, the player, born in 2005, signed a contract valid for three seasons with the European club. His contract with Corinthians was set to run until December 2026, after a renewal agreed upon in October of last year.

No longer in the plans of the alvinegro club after reaching the age limit for the youth categories, Thomas was observed by coach Dorival Júnior but did not get an opportunity with the first team. Captain of Timãozinho in the last edition of the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, he took part in the campaign that ended with elimination in the second phase, against Guarani.

“I consider my best qualities to be passing and building up play, and I hope to use these strengths to help the team. I am very open to learning new things to develop as a player,” he said to JK Tammeka’s official profile. “My first impressions of Tartu were as good as possible, and I think the club welcomed me very well. To the JK Tammeka fans, I want to say that I hope to help the team have a great season, with many victories, bringing lots of joy to the fans,” he added.

Throughout his journey in the Corinthians U-17 and U-20 categories, the midfielder played 96 matches and scored three goals, in addition to being part of the squad that won the Copinha in 2024. Among the players from the 2005 generation, his departure adds to that of defender Fernando Vera, who transferred to Zalaegerszegi TE, in Hungary.
