Bernardo Silva’s Manchester City contract is set to expire next summer. His agent, Jorge Mendes, is exploring the possibility of a free transfer, with both AC Milan and Juventus said to be in talks.
Silva hinted at a change of plans to the BBC, sparking the rumour mill into life. “I know exactly what I’ll be doing in 2026, but now is not the right time to talk about it.”
The 31-year-old’s deal expires on June 30, 2026, after what will be his ninth consecutive season in the Citizens’ shirt. This would allow him to leave the club on a free transfer and make him one of the most sought-after free acquisitions around.
Calciomercato now claim that Milan and Juventus have held initial talks with the Portuguese’s entourage. No formal talks about a transfer were held but the two clubs spoke to those around the player about the possibility of a move.
Bernardo Silva has always rejected the idea of leaving City, but now, the sentiment surrounding the player seems to have changed.
As Fabrizio Romano reports, it will be up to him to make the most important decision for the end of his career. It is believed he’ll receive an offer from Saudi Arabia and a leading role in Europe, perhaps in Italy, with the aforementioned Serie A clubs.
