Milan lead Serie A representation into 2026 World Cup last 32

Milan have the most players left at the 2026 World Cup from Serie A, with 10 in the last 32. According to Football Italia, 19 Serie A and Serie B clubs still have representatives.
The group stage finished in the early hours of Sunday, closing with Algeria 3-3 Austria and Argentina 3-1 Jordan, featuring Lautaro Martinez and Nico Paz.
The field has been trimmed from 48 to 32, with the knockouts beginning at 20.00 on Sunday when South Africa face co-hosts Canada.
Milan’s cohort includes France pair Adrien Rabiot and Mike Maignan, and France are among the favourites to win the tournament.
Atalanta have eight through, including Ederson with Brazil, Charles De Ketelaere with Belgium and Marten De Roon with the Netherlands.
Inter are third for Serie A representation in the knockouts, with players for both France and Argentina, the bookmakers’ favourites to reach the 2026 final.
Juventus have five players remaining. Roma, Como, Bologna and Sassuolo each have four.
