Morocco's record in the AFCON final

Morocco/@CAF
Morocco will face Senegal on Sunday, January 18, in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025).
The “Atlas Lions” booked their ticket to the grand finale after defeating Nigeria (0-0, then 4-2 on penalties). On the other side, the “Lions” edged past Egypt by the narrowest of margins (1-0).
Morocco is aiming for a second continental crown, having last lifted the trophy in 1976.
In the past, Morocco's national team has played in just one AFCON final, specifically in the 2004 edition, which ended in a 2-1 defeat to host nation Tunisia.
As a reminder, the 1976 AFCON, won by Morocco, was played in a round-robin mini-league format.
