Morocco is aiming for a second continental crown, having last lifted the trophy in 1976.

In the past, Morocco's national team has played in just one AFCON final, specifically in the 2004 edition, which ended in a 2-1 defeat to host nation Tunisia.

As a reminder, the 1976 AFCON, won by Morocco, was played in a round-robin mini-league format.
