Mount Pleasant takes the lead in Caribbean Cup Final

SANTIAGO DE LOS CABALLEROS, Dominican Republic – The 2025 Concacaf Caribbean Cup continued with Mount Pleasant FA securing a 1-nil win against Universidad O&M FC in the First Leg of the Final on Tuesday at Estadio Cibao FC in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
Kimoni Bailey placed Mount Pleasant in the lead in the 8’ off a corner kick opportunity, striking from the center of the box to capitalize on the delivery from Gadail Irving.
Lamar Walker came close to a second goal for the visitors in the 37’, but his attempt from the left side of the box was met by a save from O&M goalkeeper Iraitz Gelbentzu.
Shaqueil Bradford took his chance to extend Mount Pleasant’s lead late in the second half in the 90’+4’, with a long-range attempt that was saved by Gelbentzu.
Goalkeeper Tafari Chambers had a solid performance for Mount Pleasant, recording a save on his way to a clean sheet.
Mount Pleasant will look to defend its advantage when the sides meet for the Second Leg next Tuesday at Independence Park in Kingston, Jamaica.
