Jamal Musiala is not only making headlines on the pitch, but is now also opening a new chapter off the pitch. The FC Bayern attacking player is now also active as an author and has published two children’s books together with WELT sports journalist Julien Wolff. The 23-year-old tells his personal story under the titles „Mein Fußball-Abenteuer beginnt“ and „Mein Start bei den Bayern“ – presented in a comic style suitable for children

The books are aimed primarily at young readers aged seven and over and are deliberately designed to appeal to children who find reading difficult. Short text passages and a large font are intended to make it easier to get started – and at the same time combine enthusiasm for soccer with the joy of reading

Musiala provides very personal insights into his career: the Bayern star looks back on his beginnings, describes his path from youth player to professional and shares anecdotes that few people have heard before

He describes a particularly formative scene from 2020, when he received a surprise call from Bayern co-trainer Hermann Gerland inviting him to join the professional squad for training. He was delighted – but nervous at the same time. „I checked seven times to make sure I’d set my alarm clock correctly. I couldn’t oversleep!“ Musiala recalls. In the end, he arrived on time – and laid the foundations for his professional career

His early years in soccer are not neglected either. Even as a child, Musiala showed exceptional talent. In one season, he scored over 100 goals – an achievement that even earned him a golden soccer boot. „I put the boot in my room and look at it every day. I love soccer! Nothing else is as much fun for me,“ he says, describing his motivation at the time

In addition to sporting successes, Musiala also talks about personal experiences off the pitch. For example, he talks about his move to England when his family moved to Southampton, where he had an encounter that initially unsettled him: a fox in the garden at home

„Mum, I can’t play soccer in the garden anymore. There’s a fox there!“ said the young Musiala at the time. A seemingly small episode, but one that shows how even a later world-class player had to deal with fears

Musiala wants to achieve one thing above all with his books: to inspire children. The Bayern star wants to show that the path to becoming a professional is not just about talent, but also about courage, discipline and passion
