Daniele Adani slammed Inter Milan for committing huge mistakes following a gut-wrenching 3-1 defeat to Napoli.

Speaking to Domenica Sportiva via FCInterNews, Adani commented on Inter’s disjointed performance at the Maradona Stadium.

Inter Milan wasted a glorious chance to overtake AC Milan at the top of the Serie A table on Saturday.

Despite boasting a seven-game winning streak heading into the match, Inter slipped to a dismal loss in Naples.

Though referee Maurizio Mariani helped Napoli break the deadlock, it took nothing away from the home side’s impressive showing.

Indeed, Antonio Conte outfoxed his Nerazzurri counterpart, Cristian Chivu, as the Partenopei cruised to a 3-1 win.

Losing veteran star Henrikh Mkhitaryan to a thigh problem added insult to injury, depleting Chivu’s midfield options.

Therefore, the 36-year-old will be unavailable for Inter’s home league clash against Fiorentina on Wednesday.

After falling three points behind Napoli, victory is imperative for the 20-time Italian champions as they take on a downtrodden La Viola.

“Napoli played without their best defender, Amir Rrahmani, their best midfielder, Stanislav Lobotka, their best striker, Romelu Lukaku, and his substitute, Rasmus Hojlund,” Adani said.

“During the match, their best player, Kevin De Bruyne, got injured.

“All this against a team that, for nine out of eleven players, played in the Champions League final five months ago, missing only Marcus Thuram, who isn’t their best striker, and with Manuel Akanji replacing Benjamin Pavard.

“Inter came from seven consecutive wins, while Napoli had just suffered a heavy defeat in Eindhoven.

“Conte delivered a university-level lesson in motivation, reading the game, managing pressure, and strategy.

“On the field was the strongest team in the league, and one in great difficulty at that moment. It was a masterclass, no ifs or buts.

“A week ago, they won a very difficult match in Rome, and in the Champions League, they’ve won every game.

“The Nerazzurri are the strongest team in the league. But they can make mistakes, as happened in Turin or against Udinese.

“There’s a new direction that, in my opinion, has taken a new path.

“I really like Cristian Chivu for the way he speaks and thinks.

“However, there are players who have been together for a long time. Sometimes they fall, and when they make mistakes, they do it badly.”
