Within hours of his spectacular volley securing the Serie A title, a Napoli fan got the image of Scott McTominay’s goal tattooed on his flesh.
It was still 0-0 against Cagliari at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, so with Inter leading in Como on Friday evening, the Partenopei had dropped to second place.
That was until the midfielder held off a shirt tug to acrobatically volley in the opening goal, leading to Scudetto celebrations.

A Napoli supporter has now got that image of the Scotland international’s leap to carry with him forever in an ornate tattoo.

He has become the symbol of this Serie A success story, so people are expecting a whole generation of kids in Naples will be called Scott in his honour, much like the number of young men named Diego born in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

He has also become known by his very Neapolitan nickname McFratm, which is a Scottish version of the local dialect for ‘brother’.
The player is enjoying himself in Naples, both on and off the field.
