Napoli now considering disciplinary action against Romelu Lukaku | OneFootball

Serie A side Napoli and Romelu Lukaku have low-key been involved in a battle of sorts over the last week. The back and forth is now at a point where the Partenopei are finally considering disciplinary action.

The striker hasn’t been training with the Partenopei despite apparently being fit. This brought about a reaction from the Italian press about him deliberately not turning up and staying back in Belgium. After an outcry, Lukaku took to social media and clarified that he has picked up a further injury which has held back his return.

Time is running out for him though, as Lukaku wasn’t in Napoli training even today.

The club announced in a statement that he indeed wasn’t present with the rest of the squad. They are now considering a disciplinary action, which can lead to Lukaku potentially being excluded from the side for the rest of the current campaign.

The Belgian has been dealing with fitness issues across the season anyway – despite scoring one goal after returning from a major injury some weeks ago. This can potentially be the beginning of the end of his time in Naples.
