Former Juventus player and vice-president Pavel Nedved has revealed he chose to contribute to the plea bargain in the investigation into the Bianconeri’s financial irregularities “because I love Juventus and will continue to love it.”

Nedved, along with former president Andrea Agnelli and ex-Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici, had their plea bargains accepted by preliminary judge Anna Maria Gavoni on Monday.

The investigation delved into the Bianconeri’s finances, seeking to determine whether or not the Bianconeri artificially inflated transfer fees in order to make it easier to balance the books with capital gains.

Nedved: ‘I chose plea bargain because I love Juventus’

Speaking on television while commentating on the Ballon d’Or ceremony last night, Nedved said “I’m happy to have this behind me,” with quotes via A Bola.

“I admit it was a very complicated and difficult period for me,” he added, “Although I am innocent, I accepted the collective bargaining agreement because I love Juventus and will continue to do it.”

“The feeling of such injustice,” Nedved continued, “of not being able to fight and defend myself like I knew how to do on the football pitch. But I think I gave everything I had to Juventus. On and off the field.”

The Czech director concluded “I was immensely happy at Juventus for twenty years and grew in every way. It was a wonderful time and I have wonderful memories, even if it didn’t end well.”

Nedved currently serves as general director of the Czech national teams and was sentenced to a suspended sentence of one year and two months in the Juventus case.
