Transfer speculation surrounding FC Bayern is ever-present. New names are constantly being traded, including talents from direct league rivals Dortmund. Now there seems to be clarity on some rumors.

FC Bayern have recently been linked with several young players from Germany and abroad, including Kobbie Mainoo (Manchester United), Carlos Baleba (Brighton), Ayyoub Bouaddi (Lille) and Julien Duranville (Borussia Dortmund).

According to Sky, however, there is currently no concrete interest from Munich in any of these players, with transfer insider Florian Plettenberg making it clear that „they are not an issue for FC Bayern at all“.

Things sounded a little different on the Bild podcast„Bayern Insider“, however, where Christian Falk and Tobias Altschäffl at least left open the possibility of a move for England U21 international Mainoo. Although he does not play a role for the winter period, they are not categorically ruling out a move in the summer. A scenario is conceivable if Leon Goretzka leaves the club and Bayern have to fill a midfield spot. Carlos Baleba also appears on Munich’s internal list of possible candidates – but without any hot tendency at the moment.

Duranville in Dortmund before the end

The situation is different for BVB youngster Julien Duranville. The winger, who was once considered a huge attacking talent, is currently in a sporting impasse. He was recently even removed from the matchday squad for disciplinary reasons and is currently having to fight his way back into team training. According to DAZN, a departure from Dortmund in the winter cannot be ruled out. Despite his great talent, he no longer plays a role in the professional squad. A consequence of his lengthy injury and strong competition. Statements from coach Niko Kovac such as „The others are better“ speak a clear language.

This is precisely why a transfer to FC Bayern seems unrealistic. Munich’s managers are not looking for promising players with no recent match experience, but for talented players who can build up pressure immediately. Duranville does not currently meet this requirement profile.

The speculation surrounding Nico Schlotterbeck is much more concrete. The centre-back has not yet accepted Dortmund’s contract offer – despite a top salary. Sky reports that his public criticism after the Champions League match against Bodö/Glimt caused a stir internally. Statements such as „The players who come in lose every ball“ were seen as a breach of trust within the club.

As a result, there is growing concern in Dortmund that Schlotterbeck is speculating on an offer from Munich. There is no doubt that his style of play fits in with Bayern’s requirements. The left-footed player has quality and the potential to become a leader. However, the focus in Munich remains on an extension with Dayot Upamecano. Only if this fails could Schlotterbeck be targeted more concretely.
