Santos beat Bragantino 2-0 at Vila Belmiro in the Campeonato Brasileiro on Sunday, ending a seven-match winless run. Neymar struck before the interval and Adonis Frias secured the result.
According to Diario Do Peixe, Neymar and Rollheiser were decisive, the latter involved in the opener, with goalkeeper Diógenes making key saves and Barreal the standout in midfield, especially in the first half. Player ratings included Diógenes 7, Neymar 7, Rollheiser 7, Barreal 7 and Frias 7.
Before kick-off, coach Cuca lost Luan Peres and chose Adonis Frias ahead of prospect João Ananias.
Neymar had struggled for much of the first period, misplacing most of what he attempted, yet he broke the deadlock before half-time after link-up with Rollheiser and Gabriel Bontempo.
Frias later struck to confirm a 2-0 victory. Diógenes, recalled after a glaring error against Bahia, made at least two excellent saves. Willian Arão added energy, Rony curtailed Juninho Capixaba’s raids, Gabriel Barbosa worked hard with few chances, while Miguelito and Moisés were on too briefly to be rated.
