Santos recorded their lowest home crowd of the year on Sunday, beating Red Bull Bragantino 2-0 at Vila Belmiro with 6,291 in attendance on a rainy Mother’s Day night.
It was the fourth sub-10,000 crowd at the ground across 13 matches in the Baixada Santista this season, according to Globo.com.
The Bragantino fixture was Santos’s final home outing before the expected 18 May announcement of Brazil’s World Cup squad.
After visiting Coritiba in Paraná in the Copa do Brasil, Santos will host the same opponents in the league at Neo Química Arena following a board decision to switch the venue.
The expectation is for around 40,000 supporters at the home of rivals Corinthians.
